The draft is underway!

This league has just begun! Because this is a new league, it will be a few days before the allocation draft begins (the countdown timer above shows when the first pick will fire). This is a great time to get a team as you will be able to build it from scratch! If you don't want to wait for the draft, though, check to see if there is a team in an established league that you can take over.

NOTE: As of the last sim, this league was under the minimum 20% capacity. Invite your friends to join MyFootballNow to keep this league alive! Then send them to this league to become the owner of a team! The league will expire at 8/01/2025 8:00 am.

Hot reads

I really like the hot reads in the new sim as its a good way for qbs to counter blitzing. What I want to see however, is more of them. So far, I have 1 a game and haven't seen a game where anyone has had over 2. I think a good number would be 4-5 per game against a heavy blitz team. The 1 per game is also with a 96 intelligence qb so he has the intelligence to make the reads. What do u guys think? Is 4-5 per game too much?

I don't think it should be a set number, whether it be 4-5 or 1-2, just so that it's based on how often the defense blitzes.

Yeah that was my point I just threw out 4-5 as an estimate against blitz heavy. I should have been clearer

Scouting the play will increase the hot reads. If you scouted the play, your hot read calls are directly tied to your QB's intelligence.

Interesting... Does play knowledge have impact on this too. I scouted an overused play and only ended up with 1 hit read so I'm wondering if play knowledge plays a role. If it does then that makes sense cuz my team did not have much knowledge of it

Knowledge? i assume you mean Play Familiarity..It's possible it could have some effect..higher the PF better your team performs that play.. so could it be your team just not executing the play and missing the reads.

would also like to know if PF has any effect on this.

To this end, you are best served scouting only blitz plays.

Any play you scout gives you a boosted advantage when you face it beyond the base familiarity. I don't remember if that was a 0.4 or 0.4.1 addition. The payoff is greater on the blitz plays, but if you scout plays that your opponent doesn't use then you lose out on the gain with the other plays. So it's up to you, certainly if you're facing a heavy blitzer then scouting all blitz plays will be a good idea. If you don't scout the blitz plays but they overuse them, you should start to hot read as well.
