The draft is underway!

Click here to go to your war room, or visit the war room item in the draft menu.

This league has just begun! Because this is a new league, it will be a few days before the allocation draft begins (the countdown timer above shows when the first pick will fire). This is a great time to get a team as you will be able to build it from scratch! If you don't want to wait for the draft, though, check to see if there is a team in an established league that you can take over.

NOTE: As of the last sim, this league was under the minimum 20% capacity. Invite your friends to join MyFootballNow to keep this league alive! Then send them to this league to become the owner of a team! The league will expire at 8/01/2025 8:00 am.

Re: New Owners/Salary Cap

For the record this probaby should have moved into the General Discussion forum instead of Suggestions because it really isnt a suggestion per se .. more of a random thought.

Really the basis of this thought was started with Manziel in Cleveland. They waited to release him to get his dead money in this years cap because they were out of money last year. It just sort of evolved into this thought.

I believe the first response mentioned and how this is to simulate the NFL .. which I agree. There are parts of it that dont .. mainly the salary cap .. where teams can range from $40-80 million under which is quite unrealistic.

I had thought this would maybe help drive contracts higher with more teams being able to bid higher. I readily admit there have been discussions on this by JDB himself and putting in stipulations regarding playing time, etc. I had also thought that it may help drive ownership because new owners have a chance early on to remake a bad team with a bad salary situation and be more competitive early on.

The proverbial killing two birds with one stone.
