Fancy Dress Ideas Needed

So I have a big birthday coming up this summer as some of you are aware (see Coming to America thread!). My party has a theme to it in honour of my new found love in American football and NASCAR: anything linked to American Sports.

So I could go as my original plan: in full NFL outfit (would be quite amusing for a skinny 11stone chap!), however I think it could be a little expected.

Do any of you have any other ideas (other than coming as a cheerleader as my mates want me to!)? I'm thinking you lot have a greater depth of major sportspeople that you've had or special moments or incidents - I'm happy to have one which needs explaining.

Fire any ideas - the more the better!! Enjoy your weekend :)
