Coach contracts

Does anyone know how to get rid of a coach mid-contract? I am trapped by a LB coach being on a 12m contract which I didn't offer him (see below) and now I cannot hire an offensive coordinator, as my HC is on less money than that!
Contract came about as I replaced my incumbent D coordinator with my previous LB coach, and the system automatically gave the one I was trying to rid myself of a three year LB coach contract on huge money!

I would hire a new coach to replace him, then try to re-hire him for less money.
