This is a great time to get a team as you will be able to build it from scratch! If you don't want to wait for the draft, though, check to see if there is a team in an established league that you can take over.

Coach ratings

Do they progress with age and/or experience or will they stay the same the whole coach career? Sorry if this question is answered somewhere and I missed it.

If you go to the coach's page (linked off their player card) you can actually view their progress over the years. So to answer your question, yes, their ratings will change with time.
