Over the cap and trades

So I'm over the cap in one of the leagues I'm in and trying to trade a player with two years left on his contract. If I trade him I'm still over the cap. Found a trade partner but the system won't let us execute the trade. Any solutions ?

I was once on the other end of such a trade. Tried several attempts. Got the same result. Unless the trade fixes the cap problem, the trade won't go through.

I do think that trades that improve the salary cap overage should be allowed. But I'm still somewhat new to this site and wonder if people could potentially use it to an unfair advantage.

That’s the team. Sort of frustrating that im a trade and one cut away from being under the cap but can’t make the trade.

I'm pretty new here too but if you do the cut and then the trade wouldn't that work?
