Gameplan abandoned

So, I had a gameplan setup to run 50% of the time in pretty much every situation and even more in some situations. Usually this results in like a 60-70% running ratio. However, this time it completely failed me. We started out great with very balanced play-calling and jumped out to a 14-0 lead because of it. But then my team suddenly abandoned this gameplan and went pass heavy, which was the exact thing I was trying to avoid against a very good pass defense and mediocre run defense. As a result, we never scored another point.

Before you say rules caused it, I only have three rules on offense. One of those is to prevent safeties, the other two dictate when to go for it on 4th down. So, no, it wasn't caused by rules.

I'm just wondering could have caused my team to seemingly abandon the gameplan when it was working so well. I think it cost me the game ultimately.
