This league has just begun! Because this is a new league, it will be a few days before the allocation draft begins (the countdown timer above shows when the first pick will fire). This is a great time to get a team as you will be able to build it from scratch! If you don't want to wait for the draft, though, check to see if there is a team in an established league that you can take over.

NOTE: As of the last sim, this league was under the minimum 20% capacity. Invite your friends to join MyFootballNow to keep this league alive! Then send them to this league to become the owner of a team! The league will expire at 8/01/2025 8:00 am.

Weight for a CB

Severely overweight CB who is 16% above average. He has 90 speed and 82 acceleration so he's a fast Dude. Good skills too. Since he's that overweight (around 25 pounds or so), would it be a terrible idea to have him cover those wr 2s? Like would his weight slow him down that much?

I would look at his Tackling ability and possibly move him to WLB

Yeah he's a good tackler so it's an option. Only thing is that I have like no other replacement at cb 2 lol the allocation draft had everyone overweight

What if your opponent put his fast wr at cb 2. Still in mfn I have a 49 speed CB 2. If you solo him up in man alot he will get beat on some fly patterns and after the catch on a quick hitch or slant. I like to think if a 100 s peed cb runs a 4.3s a 90 s peed 230 pounder runs in the low 4.5s . Still, position experience plays a big part here and it might take a few games to get up there. Also if you blitz alot you might want some bump and run.

In a cover 2 defense where he is your muscle and or might face a bunch of TEs out of the 3 TE set he might become a valuable asset that will get his weight down by next season

For bump and run are there separate plays that distinguish bump and run from regular man coverage? I can't seem to tell for some reason from the playbook

There are actually 2 modes in man-to-man, sometimes the DB will play bump and run, and other times he will give him a cushion (variable based on the speed of the WR vs the speed of the DB). But I'll look into having more inputs into that decision

Oh so basically it's automated by the AI based on a bunch of factors. Thanks for the input

I actually have this exact sort of player on my team in 67. He was a speedy linebacker when he got drafted who got moved to CB out of necessity. I think he does a pretty good job.
