This is a great time to get a team as you will be able to build it from scratch! If you don't want to wait for the draft, though, check to see if there is a team in an established league that you can take over.

Promoting

my head coach just retired. i was wanting to make my OC HC. he is currently signed to a multi year deal. how do i go about? hire another OC then promote my current one or?

just go to Contract for your OC once there put his Position as HEAD COACH .

it is between the salary and the years.

then give him what the game allows you to and give him 6 years then it should be a pending contract until the next spin where he either accepts it or rejects it and accepts someone else's contract offer.

As long as you already haven't resigned the OC that current season

the contract he has now was done before i took over the team

Doesn't matter ..

If the current contract was signed in the current season, he cannot be offered a new contract.

As punisher said, if their is a red/maroon button that says "Contract" is there, then he can be offered the contract ..
