I have a player out for 10 weeks. What are the implications of IR?

Is the player deemed out for the year?

If you place on IR they are done for the year and you can carry another player.

OR

you can wait out the injury and have the player come back at the end of the year. If you decide to do that you cannot get a replacement player.

Plus just because he says he is out for 10 weeks that really doesnt mean he is out for that long, He could come back down to probably in a few weeks. Depending on what part of body is injured and the position he plays he could still play as a probable player
