As a German, non-native speaker, I find it funny how two native speakers discuss the correctness of an irregular verb.
But an inveterate Englishman would even describe an American as a non-native speaker.

Incidentally, the whole discussion is now so annoying to me that I'm considering not commenting anywhere anymore... not even GG anymore.

If I was JDB, I'd kick all your asses to the sideline. Way too many egos in here, and follow ups as such. Grow up chaps, don't be at each others throats all the time....it's just a game.

It is just a game, but the old timers have invested a lot of time and years into it, so I get the heated debates.
